DEAR COLLEAGUES AND FRIENDS:

We are pleased to share with you the success achieved by the 6th International Congress of Cardiology on the Internet, conducted between September 1st and November 30th, 2009; with 27,980 participants of 139 countries.

This virtual international cardiological congress has come to the whole world and included many people who perhaps have not been able to attend at international traditional meetings due to distance and cost, allowing them to share the most recent advances and evidences in the field of the cardiological knowledge.

Three hundred fifty five (355) lectures, including 31 audioconferences, and 180 brief communications were the basis of the scientific program.

World-renown experts were main contributors for the success of this Congress, and on behalf of the organizers and participants of the Congress, we express them our deep gratitude.

As well as Doctor Josep Brugada distinguished the opening of the Congress with the presentation of the Inaugural Conference "The Struggle against the Cardiac Sudden Death: new features in the century XXIst", Doctor Carmen M. Terzic´s and Doctor Heather Ross´s presentations: “Stem Cells and Cardiac Regeneration” – “Heart Transplantation in the Current Era”, looking to the future, distinguished the closing of the 6th Virtual Congress of Cardiology.

The quality of presentations was universally high and thanks are due to all the presenters for their participation and hard work. The atmosphere during the congress was excellent, with positive interactivity in the discussion forums, expressed by the 1208 messages interchanged between the participants.

Our gratefulness goes also to the Authorities of the Argentine Federation of Cardiology for their unconditional support, to the Inter-American Heart Foundation, to the Framework Convention Alliance, to the World Heart Federation, to the Educational Sponsors that made the congress possible, to the Simposia Coordinators, to the Faculty of the International Course on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, to the FAC Secretariat of Education, to the Moderators of the FAC Forum on Continuing Education, to the FAC Scientific Committees, to our Secretaries Claudia Guerrero and Magui Gerez, and especially to the Technical-Steering Committee and CETIFAC Secretaries Eliana Magariños, Mariana Ceballos, Gabriela Lell, María Victoria Imoberdorff, María Eugenia Diaz and Maribel Ayala.
