The intensive coronary angioplasty anticoagulation conditioned the immediate sheath removal.

The new anticoagulation treatments and the smallest materials allow to accomplish changes in the conventional techniques.

There were analyzed comparatively 2 groups. In the period march 1998 December 2000, in both groups were practiced coronary angioplasty (ATC) by femoral approach.

The sheath was removed later of six hours and in the second immediate ended the procedure: Table 1

Conclusion: This experience demonstrates that the immediate sheath remove is feasible even if is used epifibatide. At the same time, it reduces significantly the femoral compression time and the hospital discharge time.
