Predictive Value Of The PR>RR Interval
During Electrophysiologic Study

Objective: To determinate sensitivity, specificity and predictive values of the "PR>RR interval" during IAS correlated to the presence of DAVNP and AV Node Reentry Tachycardia (AVNRT).

Design: Historic cohort

Methods: In a EPI INFO v.6.04c database, the information about presence of "PR>RR interval" during EPS, significant "jump" in the AH interval during PAS, inducibility of AVNRT and other tachycardias were included. These measurements were performed before and after catheter ablation therapy. Sensitivity, specificity and predictive values were calculated for each of the measurements in the presence of DAVNP and AVNRT.

Results: Between February/94 to June/99 231 EPS studied were performed for the diagnosis of SVT. In 175 of them (75.8%) a curative catheter ablation followed. Age range was 8 - 96 years (mean 48.36 ± 17.7). 107 (53.6%) were male. Results are shown Tables 1 and 2:

Conclusion: The "PR>RR interval" during Incremental Atrial Stimulation is a finding of low sensitivity but good specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value compared to the presence of slow pathway of Dual AV Node and inducibility of AV Node Reentry Tachycardia.
