Introduction: Procedures Interventional in Acute Myocardial Infarction (MI) have changed and evolutioned in the last years.

Purpose: Assessment the trend in the evolution and treatment of Q-wave acute MI in the Foundation Clinic Valle del Lili in 5 years.

Design: Historic Cohort.

Site: Cardiology Interventional Laboratory and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the Foundation Valle del Lili.

Materials and Methods: MI registers in databases of the Cardiology Interventional Laboratory and ICU from February 1994 to December 1998. Patients admissed with diagnostic of acute MI and who were performed primary PTCA with or without stent and rescue PTCA were included.

Results: 539 patients consecutives had acute MI. This group is 44.6% of the all procedures interventional in our laboratory. Table 1

Conclusions: The increment in the number of attended patients, the complications remain stables at time. The development of the more procedures and the transition of primary PTCA to stenting implantation in acute MI to carry along with the reduction in the mortality rate by acute MI in our laboratory in last 5 years (de 10.2% a 7.8%).
